Here at St. Michael Parish, the PPC is a group of 12 elected lay persons, the Pastor, some staff members, and appointed delegates for our Parish Council.

Please consider nominating a member of our parish (or yourself) who you belive has the faith, the listening skills and the ability to give wise counsel to the pastor.

The council’s mission is to advise the Pastoral Team with respect to the financial aspects of the parish operations.

Opportunity to participate: Quarterly meetings for an appointed three-year term.

Volunteer helpers assist staff members in so many ways from stuffing envelopes to counting money. There are opportunities at all skill levels.

Opportunity to participate: Daily, weekly, monthly or special project help is always needed.

The Parish Pastoral Council is an elected advisory board to the Pastoral Team. It is a visionary council, keeping God’s will and the parish’s 5-year plan in the forefront.

Opportunity to participate: 9 meetings per year, elected three year term. Chance for sub-committee work, too!

Provides support, resource information, programming and referrals to parishioners in need. See the "Outreach" section of this brochure for the many opportunities and support services that are available in the parish.

Parish Property Management oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the Parish buildings and land surrounding them through supervised direction of staff personnel; develops projects and procures materials for parish volunteers to help beautify and maintain our parish property and provides assistance to parish staff and organizations for programs and events.

This ministry takes care of small jobs around the Parish such as shoveling, painting, and carpentry work.

Protecting God’s Children is a mandated Archdiocesan program required of all volunteers. Its purpose is for parishioners to be fully educated in the responsibility adults have in protecting all of God’s children – including each other. A one-time class of about two hours fulfills the requirement for a lifetime. Classes are offered throughout the year and are ongoing.

Opportunity to participate: Notification of a class is through the bulletin and school notices.

As a means of protecting God’s children, all volunteers who have contact with children or the elderly are required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to complete a yearly CORI (Criminal Offense Record Information) form. Forms are available at the Pastoral Center or School Office.
The Theresians, named after St. Theresa "The Little Flower", plant, water and take care of potted plants and annuals that beautify the parish grounds during the summer months.

Opportunity to participate: Weekly or as needed, during the late spring and summer.
