Welcome to St. Michael’s Religious Education Program

Resources

Our program aims as much at sharing and nurturing faith as at giving knowledge about God. We feel very strongly that parents are the primary educators of their children, therefore, our program is designed to enhance the foundation that you as parents are already giving to your children.

Our program is based on the Archdiocese of Boston Religion Curriculum Guidelines which is correlated with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We use text books that provide a strong foundation. We then strive to enhance the books with activities that are uniquely St. Michael’s. These activities help the children feel closer to God and their Church.

"There is only one way to bring peace to the heart, joy to the mind, and beauty to the life, it is to accept and to do the will of God." (William Barclay)

Here at St. Michael’s we strive to have a flexible program designed to meet the needs of all our students and all of our teachers. We offer after school classes that are taught at St. Michael’s School on Maple Avenue. We also offer neighborhood classes taught in the homes of our teachers.

Private home study is another available option for all grades, except grade two. Private home study is a parent taking the responsibility of teaching his/her child at home with catechism and support offered by the parish when questions arise. Parents teaching their own children gives interested parents the opportunity to be the influential value communicator and religious instructor for their own child.

Family participation is a key ingredient in whatever class option you choose. We have an open door policy, so feel free to visit any time.

"For even Jesus did not come to be served; He came to serve and to give His life to redeem many people."

Mark 10:45
