There is something for everyone: high-skill, low-skill, weekly commitment, once-in-a-while commitment and training for all!

Worship & Sacramental Life

Eucharistic Ministry:  Coordinator of schedules (need computer skills) Commitment:  three times per year plus updating data base
Eucharistic Minister at Mass or to the homebound or nursing homes.  Commitment:  once per month

Greeters:  Welcome people as they enter the church and pass out bulletins at the end of Mass.  Commitment: Weekend Masses or for special occasions.  Coordinator for Hospitality Ministry.  Commitment:  scheduling 3 times per year.

Launderers:  Wash the altar server robes.  Commitment: once per month.
Wash the seasonal linens.  Commitment:  4 times per year

St. Martha Cleaning Ministry:  Sweep, dust, wash windows of the church and Pastoral Center.   Commitment:  weekly on Mondays or Fridays, 9:30am-10:30am

Lazarus Funeral Ministry:  Assist at the funerals by welcoming mourners, preparing the altar and/ or being an altar server. Commitment:   twice per month

Music Ministry:  Singers, musicians wanted for all types of music.  Commitment:  weekly

Baptism Team:  Instructors for Baptism Preparation Classes.  Commitment:  flexible - any 1^st or 3^rd Wednesday, 7:30-8:30pm.  Baptism Coordinators.  Commitment:  flexible - any Sunday at 1:30pm

Wedding Coordinators:  Direct the wedding rehearsal & be on hand to get the wedding ceremony started.  Commitment:  once per month.  Data Entry.  Commitment:  twice per month

Eucharistic Adorers:            Sit with the Lord in the Adoration Chapel and pray for our parish and the wider world.   Commitment:  one hour per week:  Monday – Friday 5am – midnight; Saturday – Sunday 5am – 4pm.

Liturgy Team:  Plan for weekend Masses and special seasons.  Commitment:  monthly meetings

Sacristan:  Prepare for 4pm Saturday Mass and clean-up.  Commitment:  weekly

Christ-Seekers:  Prayer partners for RCIA candidates.  Commitment:  weekly prayer & phone call

Outreach

Hancock Projects Outreach:  Play, entertain, crafts, excursions for children in the Lawrence projects.  Commitment:  any summer afternoon, 11:30am – 5pm.  Team of coordinators.  Commitment:   publicity and recruiting in late spring and weekly coordination 

Special Outreach Collections:  Coordinators needed for gift-giving to Si Se Puede, Catholic Charities and other Lawrence groups in need.  Commitment:  flexible

Circle of Friends:  Driving Circle:  Drivers to bring shut-ins on errands.  Commitment:  flexible;  Friendly Visitor Circle:  Visit parishioners who are homebound or in the nursing home.  Commitment:  one hour per month;  Welcome Circle:   Welcome new parishioners by phone and to meet them monthly.  Commitment:  5 phone calls per month and monthly coffee hour.  Nourishment for the Body & Soul Circle:  Cooks and drivers to drop off meals to those who have lost a loved one or who are caring for someone ill.  Commitment:  flexible;  Coordinator of Nourishment Circle.  Commitment:  4 phone calls per week.  Special Needs Circle:  Assist our elderly and shut-ins with raking, shoveling, weeding, or repairs.  Commitment:  flexible

Youth Group:  Chaperones, Office Helpers, Adult Presence.  Commitment:  flexible

Bread and Roses:  Provide some food to feed the hungry of Lawrence.  Commitment:  once per month

Prayer Shawl Ministry:  Knit or crochet shawls for the homebound, or those who need a boost.  Commitment:  flexible

Religious Education

Teachers, Teachers Aids, Hall Monitors:  Share your faith with students, grades 1-8 or confirmation students, grades 9-10.   Commitment:  one hour each week, October – April for grades 1-8; varied scheduling Sunday evenings for confirmation.

Social Life

Hospitality:   Coordinators, publicity, bakers, food servers, set-up, clean-up, shoppers, decorators for special events throughout the year from cookies and punch after Ecumenical Services to Welcome Sunday Donuts to  huge events like the parish picnic.  Commitment:  flexible – large or small

Parish Administration

Office Helpers:  Bookkeeping.  Commitment:  Sundays 11:30am-1pm or Mondays 9-10:30am; Quarterly mailings, Data Entry, Phone calling, Web Page.  Commitment:  flexible

Newsletter:  Reporters, Writers, Graphic Designers.  Commitment:  flexible

Grounds keeping:   Weeding, planting, watering and shoveling.  Commitment:  flexible
